Faces of Ardmore Roderick: Sterling Langley

At Ardmore Roderick, our people are at the center of everything we do. Faces of Ardmore Roderick highlights the individuals behind the work, sharing the experiences and perspectives that shape how we serve our clients and communities.

Sterling Langley serves as Manager of Projects in Ardmore Roderick’s Orlando office, where his role extends beyond managing projects to supporting team members, building client relationships, and contributing to business development.

For Sterling, engineering offered an opportunity to do something he has always enjoyed: solve problems and take on new challenges.

“I was drawn to engineering by the opportunity to solve complex problems and tackle new challenges.”

That interest has carried into his passion for Design/Build projects in commercial construction. Of the projects he has worked on, one in particular stands out: Sunshine Elementary School, an 88,900-square-foot new campus built in Orlando, Florida.

Projects like Sunshine Elementary reflect the type of work Sterling enjoys most: bringing people together to solve challenges and move complex projects toward successful delivery. His project experience also shapes how he approaches client relationships, helping him understand client’s needs and identify where Ardmore Roderick can bring value.

While managing projects, staff, and client relationships may be some of the more visible parts of Sterling’s role, business development is another important part of his work.

“Most people understand that my role involves managing projects, staff, and client relationships, but they may not realize the challenges of business development. It plays a significant role in the growth and success of any office.”

For Sterling, project delivery and business development are closely connected. By understanding client goals, building strong relationships, and identifying opportunities for Ardmore Roderick’s expertise, he is helping strengthen the firm’s presence and create new opportunities in the Orlando market.

Outside of work, Sterling stays busy with two interests that have been part of his life for years. He enjoys playing saxophone at events and has played on and off for more than 20 years. He also practices Tang Soo Do, a Korean martial art, alongside his family. Together, they participate in tournaments and other martial arts events throughout the year.
