At Ardmore Roderick, our people are at the center of everything we do. Faces of Ardmore Roderick highlights the individuals behind the work, sharing the experiences and perspectives that shape how we serve our clients and communities.

Beth Alson, RA, LEED, AP, BD+C, is a Senior Project Manager in our Buildings and Facilities department, where she currently supports the construction of the new campus facility at Harper College as part of the Construction Management team. In addition to her project work, Beth contributes to the Cook County Public Safety Portfolio and supports various Buildings and Facilities leadership initiatives.

Beth’s path into the industry began with a passion for the built environment and its impact on everyday life.

“My interest in how the built environment impacts our lives and communities led me to pursue an advanced degree and a career in architecture.”

As an architect by training, she brings a distinct perspective to her work.

Throughout her career, Beth has contributed to complex, high-impact projects that require collaboration, adaptability, and precision. One standout experience was supporting the restoration of the CTA Blue Line O’Hare Station after a train derailment caused significant damage. Working in a restricted space with limited access, her team helped restore both temporary and permanent access for passengers on an accelerated schedule-coordinating closely with engineers, CTA operations, contractors, and manufacturers.

For Beth, the work is about more than just the end result.

“I value and enjoy the process as much as the result.”

Outside of work, Beth enjoys spending time gardening. Whether tending to her own small urban garden or sharing a larger community space with neighbors, it’s a way to stay connected to both her environment and her community.
