Project Details

Delivering Smart, Future-Ready Infrastructure for a Next-Generation Learning Hub

Wymer Hall is a new hybrid academic facility at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign designed to support modern teaching, collaboration, and digital content creation. The project addresses the university’s need for flexible, technology-rich spaces that enhance interdisciplinary learning and provide adaptable environments for students and faculty.

Ardmore Roderick provided comprehensive support focused on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, ensuring coordinated, efficient execution across the complex building program. Key responsibilities included directing MEP field operations—overseeing material deliveries, equipment staging, and work sequencing—while managing day-to-day subcontractor activities to maintain productivity and alignment with project goals. The team also reviewed drawings, processed RFIs, coordinated with local authorities for inspections and utility connections, and supported issue resolution to maintain design intent and code compliance.

Ardmore Roderick reinforced project controls by maintaining daily field documentation, monitoring progress, and identifying risks early. In support of sustainability goals, the team ensured LEED compliance through protected-installation documentation and weekly 360° site capture. The result is a well-coordinated, future-ready academic facility that advances innovation, accessibility, and student success.
