Wood Street/Ashland Avenue Improvement Project
Project Details
Revitalizing Communities: Modernizing Wood Street/Ashland Avenue for a Safer, More Accessible Future.
The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) is investing $94 million to modernize a 3-mile stretch of Wood Street/Ashland Avenue between 138th and 161st streets, which passes through Harvey, Dixmoor, and Riverdale. This project will transform a roadway that has remained largely unchanged for nearly a century, improving its functionality and safety.
Serving as Liaison Engineer, Ardmore Roderick ensures the contractor adheres to the contract plans and specifications. In addition, our team reviews the contractor’s submittals and Requests for Information (RFIs) and generates contract change authorizations and pay estimates. Work includes coordination and chairing progress meetings with the contractor, IDOT, and various stakeholders.
This modernization effort is not just about infrastructure; it’s a crucial investment in the communities served by Wood Street/Ashland Avenue, aimed at improving safety, accessibility, and overall quality of life.
