Multimodal Corridor Enhancements (MCORE)

Multimodal links between the university and the cities of Champaign and Urbana ease transportation between downtown centers and the university.

The Multimodal Corridor Enhancement (MCORE) project connects the Cities of Champaign and Urbana to the University of Illinois. The major rehabilitation of Green Street enhances mobility with a multimodal network of roads, on-street bike lanes, shared lane markings, bus-only lanes, and other transit services working together. This project consists of five sub-projects at various locations within the City of Champaign and Urbana. Ardmore Roderick provided Phase II design support for three out of the five sub-projects. Careful planning went into designing a plan to meet the needs of construction while minimizing impact on adjacent businesses. This included a delicate mix of detours and staged construction.
