Illinois Street Residence Hall (ISR) Dining Center Renovation & Expansion
Project Details
Construction of the largest university dining hall on campus introduces a new way of dining for UIUC students.
The new dining center is part of the Illinois Street Residence Hall community on campus and seats up to 1300 people. It is designed around nine micro-restaurants offering a wide range of cuisine. On the lower level, a promenade-style walkway opens into engaging community spaces such as a tea bar, Innovations Living-Learning Community garage, multi-purpose rooms, a fitness center, a meditation room, and a satellite office for the university’s counseling center. Ardmore Roderick provided construction management support for the project, which happened while students were living on campus, and ensured minimal disruption to student life.
This project exemplifies Ardmore Roderick’s mission to advance the design and construction of critical infrastructure and the built environment to improve communities, helping the University of Illinois create a lasting impact on student life.
