IL 159 From North Street to Alton Street Enhancements
Project Details
Enhancements to 1.1 miles of IL-159 enhance safety, drainage, and traffic flow in Bunker Hill.
Responsible for leading Phase I and II engineering services, Ardmore Roderick studied and designed improvements along IL 159 from North Street to Alton Street in Bunker Hill, IL. The improvements incorporate resurfacing, parking enhancements, concrete curb and gutter, a closed storm sewer system, and ADA-compliant sidewalks and ramps. Improvements to nearly a dozen intersections and a new roundabout in downtown Bunker Hill reduce risk of crashes.
In Phase I, Ardmore Roderick reviewed existing data, including topographic field survey, traffic volumes, crash statistics, highway flooding history, and an on-site field investigation. Ardmore Roderick’s Project Report focuses on an Intersection Design Study, roadway plan and profile, typical sections, traffic management analysis, bicycle needs assessment, cost comparison of alternatives, and project commitments. Additionally, Ardmore Roderick will support IDOT with environmental permits, assist with a Wetland Study Report, and document pertinent project correspondence. Upon receiving Phase I approval, Ardmore Roderick will coordinate scope and schedule to provide Phase II engineering services.
