Harper College Canning Student Center

Project Details

Where Progress Meets Purpose: Advancing Harper’s Student Experience

The Canning Student Center is a signature addition to Harper College, designed to serve as the campus’s new “front door” by centralizing student services, expanding academic space, and strengthening overall connectivity. The project also introduces a pedestrian bridge to the Health and Recreation Center and a reconfigured drop-off area to improve circulation and accessibility across this busy campus hub.

Ardmore Roderick provides Construction Management and site supervision services, supporting the delivery of the building’s contemporary masonry-and-metal façade, enhanced daylighting systems, and comprehensive site improvements—including landscape and hardscape upgrades, new lighting, utility enhancements, and a relocated service drive. Key construction activities include the completion of stairwells and elevator structures, as well as the ongoing multi-phase steel framing effort, all managed to maintain safe operations and minimize disruptions.

Through proactive field leadership and strong coordination across trades, Ardmore Roderick helps advance steady progress despite challenging winter conditions. The result is a modern, student-focused facility that improves campus mobility, strengthens long-term infrastructure, and supports Harper College’s commitment to an inclusive and connected learning environment.
