Foster Avenue Over I-90 Widening and Bridge Replacement

Replacing the Foster Avenue Bridge over I-90 paves the way for future expansion of one of Chicago’s busiest roadways.

To prepare for a wider I-90 that includes four travel lanes in each direction, the Foster Avenue Bridge project revises bridge ramps for easier turning and raises vertical clearance. As a member of the Phase II engineering team, Ardmore Roderick conducts drainage engineering for improvements along I-90 and the Foster Avenue bridge deck drainage design. The I-90 drainage improvements between Harlem Avenue and Foster Avenue consist of storm sewer collection and underdrain improvements to address embankment seepage and frequent shoulder and pavement flooding on I-90.
