Commercial Avenue Corridor Improvements
Project Details
Over two miles of streetscape improvements in Chicago’s west and south neighborhoods help revitalize the city.
This project is one of twelve corridors included in the City of Chicago’s INVEST South/West initiative, which makes improvements to foster economic growth, improve mobility, and beautify community spaces. Ardmore Roderick serves on the Phase II engineering team for work along Commercial Avenue between 83rd Street and 93rd Street, and along 92nd Street between Anthony Avenue and South Harbor Avenue. Corridor improvements for this project include pavement rehabilitation, sidewalk reconstruction, traffic signal modernization, landscaping, pavement marking, signing, new street lighting, bus pads, improved drainage, and safer intersections with the introduction of bus bulbs. A retrofitted bike path within the sidewalk limits along Commercial Avenue provides safer travel for cyclists.
