Chicago Skyway – Various Bridge Repair & Rehabilitation Contracts
Project Details
Ardmore Roderick’s inspection teams help the Chicago Skyway plan for future funding.
Ardmore Roderick led two bridge repair and rehabilitation projects for the Chicago Skyway, conducting field inspections, preparing final drawings and specifications, and developing detailed cost estimates to assist in funding allocations. The scope of work included joint repairs, deck patching, parapet/cheek wall repairs, and substructure repairs. Maintenance of Traffic plans were essential to minimize delays for the traveling public.
The 92nd Street Overpass project focused on joint replacement, with Ardmore Roderick selecting a new system for easy gland replacement. The team analyzed contractor bids, recommended awards, and completed construction inspection.
For the 2023 CAPEX Structure Rehabilitation Program, Ardmore Roderick developed 30% bridging documents for a Design-Build process, prepared bid requirements, contractor qualifications, and selection criteria to aid the Skyway in selecting the successful Design-Build team.
