Chicago O’Hare Airport Terminal 5 Campus Expansion
Project Details
A $1.2B terminal expansion doubles capacity at the largest terminal project at O’Hare International Airport since 1993.
Ardmore Roderick, as part of the Connect Chicago Alliance Joint Venture, provides program management and owners’ representative services for $1.2 billion in new investments for the Terminal 5 campus.
These crucial improvements expand the terminal to the east by 280,000 SF, with 10 new gates and a modern facility capable of international and domestic traffic. Expanding the existing terminal core accommodates new club and concession spaces, a larger Transportation Security Administration checkpoint, a reconfigured Federal Inspection System area, and a completely new baggage handling system.
The program also upgrades and modernizes the building’s existing mechanical, electrical and HVAC systems. These upgrades allowed Delta Airlines to move its operations to a modern facility in Fall 2022. By driving improvements that enhance the airport’s functionality and passenger experience, Ardmore Roderick is making a lasting impact on Chicago’s infrastructure and demonstrating its dedication to improving communities through the advancement of critical infrastructure projects.
