Chicago O’Hare Airport Modernization Program
Project Details
One of the busiest airports in the world, Chicago O'Hare International Airport is safer and more efficient after a $6.5B modernization.
The improvements rebalance its airfield, reducing delays with more parallel runways and fewer intersecting runways. As construction manager for critical segments of the modernization, Ardmore Roderick coordinated airside and landside construction between contractors and the Chicago Department of Aviation. In addition to managing the North Airfield Site and the South Airfield Zone, Ardmore Roderick led construction management, providing lead resident engineers, office engineers, assistant resident engineers, project managers, and field inspectors.
Active in the project for more than six years, Ardmore Roderick oversaw site preparation for new runways, the relocation of transportation corridors, miles of railroad embankment, railroad bridges, runway paving and electrical, and mass grading for the south airfield detention basin.
