Project Details

Program management for one of the world’s largest drinking water systems helps assure quality for nearly 1B gallons of water each day.

The Chicago Department of Water Management manages one of the world’s largest systems for the withdrawal, treatment, pumping and distribution of drinking water, as well as the collection and conveyance of wastewater and stormwater. As part of a program-specific joint venture team, Ardmore Roderick provided program management services for the department’s $4.9 Billion Capital Improvement Program. This involved an aggressive schedule to replace at least 880 miles of water mains and upgrade four of the original steam powered pumping stations to electricity over ten years. The program management team helped plan, design, expand, operate, monitor, test and inspect functions of the Chicago water and sewer systems. The team led day-to-day program delivery, assuring performance and integrating technology required to deliver and measure performance.
