75th Street Corridor Improvement Project
Project Details
Ardmore Roderick delivers expert design services to assist a complex public private partnership improving vital railway infrastructure.
The Chicago Region Environmental and Transportation Efficiency (CREATE) Program, initiated in 2003, is a public-private collaboration focused on enhancing Chicago’s railway infrastructure. With over 70 projects, CREATE aims to improve the efficiency, capacity, and safety of the region’s rail network. Ardmore Roderick is a key member of the design team for the EW2 segment of the 75th Street Corridor Improvement Project (CIP), the most complex part of CREATE. Work includes assistance with utility base maps, track alignments, turnout geometry design, and drainage design.
Ardmore Roderick worked with the team to reconfigure tracks from Belt Junction to the Dan Ryan Expressway, ensuring continuity during construction across tracks operated by four different entities. Additional responsibilities included spearheading drainage design, coordinating with infrastructure enhancements to meet the stringent Chicago Stormwater Management Ordinance standards, ensuring compliance with Chicago’s regulations, and addressing complex drainage challenges alongside other rail projects. The complexity of this project arises from the multitude of railroad partners operating within the vicinity, the expansive scope of improvements, and the significant roadway networks within the project area, including the Dan Ryan Expressway.
