2021 Bridge Repair Project

Maintenance repairs and painting preserve safety and traffic flow on four Cook County bridges.

The 2021 Bridge Repair Project was a vital initiative undertaken to enhance the safety and longevity of critical transportation infrastructure across Cook County. Ardmore Roderick oversaw construction improvements of three bridges along East Lake Avenue and Lake Cook Road. Improvements involved the cleaning and painting each steel bridge, longitudinal joint repairs, and structural repairs to the abutments and pier walls. At the fourth bridge location at Mt. Prospect Road, Ardmore Roderick oversaw replacement of the expansion joint, structural concrete repairs to the approach slab and abutment walls, removal of the existing corrugated median and replacement with 10″ concrete pavement. New pavement markings and reflective markers were placed at all locations. Through our involvement with improving these critical bridge locations, Ardmore Roderick contributed to creating safer transportation corridors for both vehicles and pedestrians, reflecting our mission to improve the built environment and strengthen community infrastructure.
