Obama Presidential Center
Project Details
Ardmore Roderick helps the Obama Presidential Center fulfill its mission to become a global center for change.
At Ardmore Roderick, we believe in building more than just structures—we build trust, we build communities, and we build legacies. The Obama Presidential Center stands as a testament to our core values, and we are proud to be a part of its creation. Spanning 19 acres in Chicago’s Jackson Park, Obama Presidential Center is designed as a world-class museum; an auditorium; a branch of the Chicago Public Library; an athletic, programs, and events facility; and gardens. In a joint venture with Clayco, Ardmore Roderick provides program management for all four phases of the center’s development.
For the Pre-Design and Planning phase, the team provided strategic advising around organizational structure, goals for transparency to stakeholders, and site selection while developing budget, schedule, project controls and project delivery options. During the Design Phase, the team led the design schedule and progress, assisted in securing the architect and specialty consultants, ensured quality control of technical documents, and managed procurement needs related to construction.
In the project’s Construction Phase, Ardmore Roderick served as the Project Manager. The PMO team drafted contracts, managed schedule and budget, oversaw contractor coordination, tracked invoicing and cash flow, oversaw documentation and a rigorous QA/QC program. In the final phase, closeout and commission, the JV team creates a closeout plan; oversees commissioning progress; and oversees final closeout documentation from the Construction Manager.
