Maintenance Facility Renovation and Addition

An improved maintenance facility helps the Tollway conduct efficient repairs, clear ice and snow, and manage ongoing maintenance.

Renovation of the Tollway’s existing maintenance building and construction of an 18,000 SF addition involved selective demolition, including removal of in-ground vehicle lifts, existing lube room, existing mechanical room, and existing parts room and converting these spaces to offices. The maintenance workshop addition included construction of an electrical/IT room, mechanical room, mezzanine, new parts room, new lube room, mechanic’s office and an elevator.

As the prime consultant, Ardmore Roderick provided overall construction management, including inspection and material testing services, through a team of four sub-consultants. Close coordination with the Tollway’s IT, maintenance, operations, and fleet management groups ensured smooth delivery.
