Ardmore Roderick is proud to play a pivotal role in enhancing mobility and safety around one of Chicago’s most significant upcoming landmarks—the Obama Presidential Center. This high-profile infrastructure initiative aims to create better, safer access for pedestrians and motorists alike, ensuring a welcoming environment for visitors from across the world. Through the strategic reconstruction of key pedestrian routes and the addition of modernized roadway features, the project enhances community connectivity and fosters smoother, safer travel.
Ardmore Roderick led Construction Engineering, Inspection, and Surveying services for these improvements: the rehabilitation of the 57th Street Pedestrian Underpass, reconstruction of E. 57th Drive Retaining Wall C, widening of E. 59th Street Pedestrian Underpass including the installation of a new pump station to prevent flooding. In addition, it includes widening of E. 59th Street Inlet Bridge, widening of E. 63rd Street Pedestrian Underpass, reconstruction of shared use pathways and sidewalks throughout the project area, and installation of new traffic signals, streetlights, and underground utilities.
