IDOT I-80 Reconstruction Seneca to Morris, Phase I/II

Project Details

Interstate 80 Reconstruction – Grundy County, Illinois Strengthening a Critical Corridor for Safer, Smoother Travel

Ardmore Roderick is supporting the reconstruction of Interstate 80 between the Seneca Interchange and the IL 47 Interchange, a vital regional corridor experiencing increased traffic demands and aging infrastructure. The project addresses the need for improved safety, enhanced mobility, and long-term system resilience in one of Grundy County’s most heavily traveled segments.

Ardmore Roderick provides key Phase I and II engineering services, beginning with the development of a Combined Design Report to guide project planning and decision-making. The team leads the creation of Bridge Condition Reports for eight structures—both overpass and mainline—and prepares corresponding Type, Size, and Location plans to define future improvements. Additional responsibilities include managing utility coordination to ensure compatibility with existing systems and support uninterrupted service during construction.

These efforts lay the foundation for a safer, more efficient, and more reliable interstate. By advancing strategic design solutions and strengthening structural performance, the project will reduce congestion, enhance freight movement, and improve overall travel conditions for residents, businesses, and regional travelers.
