Ardmore Roderick prepared Phase II plans for the replacement of the 108 year old single span bridge. The project involved removal of the existing superstructure and top of the existing abutment and providing a new thru-girder system with ballasted deck and a precast abutment cap. Minimizing train outages was a key factor in this project. The design allowed for quick installation of the new bridge over a long weekend shutdown. Additional aspects of the project included RFI and shop drawing reviews and bid coordination.
