Mark Kazich, PE became The Roderick Group’s fifth employee in 2011, as Director of Engineering, long before joining forces with Ardmore Associates. Prior to that, he designed waste water treatment facilities, and soon realized that area of work wasn’t something he was interested in. Mark worked for the Village of Glen Ellyn, and as City Engineer for the City of Darien, as well as two stints with the Illinois Tollway for over 15 years. Even before his successful career with The Roderick Group and Ardmore Roderick, Mark had years of experience under his belt.
But what’s next? An avid golfer, Mark is looking forward to retirement, where he plans to volunteer a little more at church, and a non-profit group called First Tee twice a week – an organization that teaches life skills to youth through golf. He also took up yoga to help with his flexibility and his back swing. For his first day of his retirement, Mark plans to sleep past 5 a.m., take a yoga class and then have a nice, leisurely lunch with his wife, Val, a retired school teacher. They have a son, John, who is 25, and live in Darien, Illinois.
Mark was recently honored with a lunch hosted by his Illinois Tollway GEC team. A group of Ardmore Roderick colleagues were fortunate to join in the festivities, and had a great time catching up.
Thank you for your commitment to The Roderick Group and Ardmore Roderick through the years, Mark! You’ve put in the hours and hard work. It’s time to enjoy!
