Ardmore Roderick recently teamed up with Milhouse Engineering and Habitat for Humanity for a day of volunteering in Chicago’s West Pullman neighborhood. 11 employees from our company participated in the event helping to build decks, stairs and window framing, and provided project organization and site cleanup for two new construction homes for those in need. Our team readied the homes for the next step: drywall taping and sanding, and final trim work to be done by a separate subcontractor.

The day was filled with teamwork and hustle, working on a timeline to ensure specific work was completed.

Habitat for Humanity works at a community level to bring strength, stability and self-reliance to entire areas of the city. They don’t just want individuals to survive; they want neighborhoods to thrive. Their big picture approach provides maximum impact, not only for those living nearby, but Chicago at large, because the health of a city is directly tied to the health and well-being of its citizens.
