Ardmore Roderick is part of the Program Management team for all Public Building Commission (PBC) projects. Ardmore Roderick works directly under the Public Building Commission. Clients for the Public Building Commission have included Chicago Public Schools, Chicago Park District and the Fleet and Facilities Management with projects such as schools, field houses, boat docks, police stations, fire stations and libraries.

Ardmore Roderick’s roles for all PBC projects have included quality assurance management, project closeout management and change management. Ardmore Roderick’s Quality Assurance Program monitors Quality Program activities for conformance to requirements, constructability reviews, quality related deficiencies, field quality initiatives and job site, batch plant and fabrication facility’s operations.

Hancock High School

Hancock College Prep’s three-story replacement school will house typical classrooms as well as additional specialty spaces. The school will have a gymnasium with stage, a dedicated black box theater, and multipurpose rooms to support CTE, STEM and STEAM programming. The campus will feature a landscaped plaza area and parking lot.

Dore Elementary School

The new John C. Dore Elementary School is home to 32 standard academic classrooms, six Pre-K/Kindergarten classrooms, and four diverse learner classrooms. Three science labs, three computer classrooms, two art rooms, and a music room with operable partition provide students with the resources for an optimal learning experience. The three-story, 114,000-square-foot facility also houses a library, kitchen and dining facilities, an administrative center, and a student services suite. A gymnasium with stage and turf play field fulfill CPS’ commitment to sports and physical activities. Further site improvements include a parking lot, play lot, landscaping and right-of-way improvements.

Englewood STEM High School

This new high school will feature modern, multipurpose educational spaces for diverse learning, music, art, health, dance, and more. Its campus will include fields for baseball, softball, football and track, as well as tennis and basketball courts. Ardmore Roderick currently fulfills staffing requirements for the construction management role. Responsibilities included meeting minutes, RFI’s, shop drawings, submittal reviews, and quality control. Ardmore Roderick has also provided construction administration services to individual projects such as Langston Hughes Elementary School, Southwest Area High School, Engine Company 109, Little Village Branch Library, and Peck Elementary School.

The Engine Company 109

This project was a $20 Million new construction, one-story facility with 14,000 square feet composed of steel framing and exterior brick veneer. Ardmore Roderick’s responsibilities on this project included conducting daily site inspections; generating daily written reports complete with site observations and photographs; generating monthly executive summary reports identifying current status of construction activities. In addition our team was responsible for conducting material delivery and work completion inspections to ensure compliance; reviewing, estimating and negotiating change orders and payment requests; organizing and maintaining architect’s punch list and conducting final inspection with the architect for final sign off on punch list items.

New Grand Avenue Salt Dome

Ardmore Roderick is providing Owner’s Representative Services for the city-owned salt storage and distribution site. Once completed, the dome will be able to store up to 60,000 tons of salt.
