Ardmore Roderick is serving as a subconsultant to HNTB Corporation on the Illinois Tollway’s Program Management Services (PMO) contract. The contract is part of the Tollway’s 15- year, $12 Billion capital program, Move Illinois. Ardmore Roderick currently provides administrative support, as well as supplemental management of design and construction contracts and utility coordination.

Ardmore Roderick personnel assist with review of existing utility permits and creating new service utility logs for ComEd and Nicor for all new services within the I-90 Eastern and Western Corridor and EOWA Projects. Examples of these tasks include coordinating with utility companies for all relocations within projects and project corridors, creating a priority list for the utility relocations, and hosting bi-weekly utility meetings with AT&T, ComEd and Nicor as well as with Project Managers and Construction Managers for individual projects.

Ardmore Roderick coordinates with the project engineering design teams to provide engineer’s estimate of costs for quantity line items relating to roadway (earthwork, subbases and bases and pavements), structures, drainage and erosion control, roadway appurtenances (roadway safety, markings, signing and traffic control) and roadway lighting and electrical work. The team utilizes methods of definitive estimates, quantity take-offs and historical market data to determine the cost of quantities and summarizes cost of construction using work breakdown structures by grouping into subcontractor/vendor, material class/type and project phasing. Ardmore Roderick also manages land acquisition processes.

Several contracts consisted of widening and reconstructing the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway. Improvements included reconstruction of the mainline pavement and ramp to current pavement standards, extension of bridge substructures, replacement of bridge superstructures and appurtenances, drainage improvements, safety improvements, roadway lighting, toll collection enhancements, and other work as required.
