Ardmore Roderick served as the prime consultant in a joint venture with Environmental Design International, Inc. (EDI) on the $42 Million I-94 (Bishop Ford Expressway) at Stony Island Feeder Interchange project. The interchange connects a major north-south expressway with a major arterial roadway in an area with high volumes of truck traffic associated with a large commercial area.

Ardmore Roderick & EDI provided construction surveys, staking, inspection, quality assurance testing and reporting, measurement, computation and documentation of quantities for construction work performed by McHugh Construction. The existing bridges within the interchange were deteriorating and in need of major rehabilitation including redecking, widening and substructure repair or complete removal and replacement. The project consisted of two complete bridge replacements, two new bridge decks and bearing replacement, two bridge rehabilitations and one bridge removal. The construction included new traffic signal and drainage improvements at two intersections on 103rd Street. The project also included the reconstruction of the Stony Island Extension, which included new jointed pavement and drainage improvements. The project contained work on multiple interchange ramps and various electrical improvements project wide. The project included detour routes and some night time work for the beam erection for the bridge replacements.
