Ardmore Roderick is seeking a Civil Engineer III to lead our civil engineering practice in Florida and assist in the preparation of Phase I (preliminary engineering, reports and studies) and Phase II (contract plans, specifications and estimates) for various civil engineering projects.

The successful candidate shall possess and demonstrate the following qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
• 8+ years of design and project management experience of construction projects
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Florida
• Proficiency with MicroStation and/or Geopak, CAD, AutoCAD, Design Skills, Site Development, Database Design, Planning, Conceptual Skills, Legal Compliance, Drafting, LISP, Problem Solving
• Experience with any of the following: roadway geometrics, drainage design, traffic studies, signal design, hydraulic design (FDOT / Expressway preferred)
• Ability to analyze photographs, drawings and maps to inform the direction of projects as well as the overall budget constraints
• Ensure project feasibility through continual evaluation of structural integrity and design practicality
• Ability to prepare engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans, and schedules.
• Ability to create designs that utilize a variety of materials
• Ability to perform and adjust quantity calculations for practical and budgetary purposes
• Ability to forecast design and construction time frames
• Ability to inspect project sites to ensure they meet relevant codes and are progressing properly
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong leadership skills to grow engineering business, supervise team and establish and maintain client relationships
• Ability to coordinate work assignments with managers and directing work of technicians and junior engineers
• Effective listening, oral and written skills. Ability to interact in professional manner with other staff, public, clients, and contractors
• Awareness of industry trends, bringing forth ideas and opportunities when found

Other valued qualifications include:
• Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS platforms
• Experience with HCS 2010, GuidSign, Open Roads Designer or AutoTurn
• Project management and supervision skills
• Experience in managing small teams on projects
• Member and committee participant in technical associations
